Please join the brothers of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity at the University of Connecticut, RIT, University of Rhode Island, University of Vermont, University of Florida, Northeastern University, and Ithaca College in remembering the life of our honorary brother, Alex Schachter. Alex was only 14 years old when he lost his life in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting in Parkland, FL, on February 14th, 2018.
Alex was an exemplary member of his community who wanted nothing more than to attend the University of Connecticut, join the marching band, and follow in his father's footsteps by becoming a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Unfortunately, Alex will never get the chance to spread his cheer to the UConn community.
Throughout the month of November, the brothers of UConn's Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter, as well as the brothers of six other chapters across the country, will be supporting the efforts of Alex's father, brother Max Schachter, in his never ending journey to make our nations schools safer so no one else will ever have to feel the pain that he and his family have felt since the passing of their son.
Following the tragedy, brother Max Schachter founded the non profit organization, Safe Schools for Alex, and has since devoted his life to keeping our nation's school children safe. Please consider leaving a donation, no matter how small, in support of Alex, Max, and all of the children who are safe at school every day due to the efforts of Safe Schools for Alex.
Rest in Peace, Alex.
