Lebanon Disaster Relief, Help Now !
Friends, our LEBANON needs your HELP now!
We have all seen, over and over, the terrible images of the massive explosion that rocked the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020, devastating a large part of the city and destroying countless lives, homes and essential institutions, such as hospitals and food storage facilities. Hundreds of thousand of families are now left with precarious shelter, meager food supply and limited access to medical care.
The burden of this terrible tragedy is amplified by the worst economic crisis Lebanon has seen and by a medical and social system already strained and overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have received many messages from the Lebanese Diaspora and our friends in the USA asking “how can we help”? We are so grateful for these messages and have initiated a fundraiser, the Saint-Joseph University (USJ) Foundation Emergency Funds. Your donation will be used to:
•Support the wounded and displaced, providing psychological support, shelter and house repairs
•Provide essential food supplies for families in need
•Support Hotel-Dieu de France Hospital, which is currently treating hundreds of injured from the blast
• Provide scholarships to students in need and restore the USJ Campus to make it a safe place to seek higher education
Thank you for your help! Thank you for helping families, institutions and a country with desperate needs. Thank you for giving the Lebanese people the gift of SOLIDARITY and HOPE they so desperately need! All Donations are 100% tax deductible.
The Saint-Joseph University Foundation is part of the Saint-Joseph University (USJ), which was founded in 1875 by the Order of the Jesuits with the mission to provide education and humanitarian relief through many charitable programs. The University is one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Lebanon and the Middle East. Continuously, it is and has been a strong advocate of the ethno-religious diversity of Lebanon. The USJ Institution includes Hotel-Dieu de France, one of the largest Academic Hospitals in Beirut, which delivers high quality of care to many patients of the region.
