Being in the pet industry for over 300 dog years, I have seen the pet industry step up in various storms and tragic events. We are caring people that love our pets. The recent events of Hurricane Helene have impacted so many people in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and even more locations. The devastation is beyond description and chokes me up every time I see a new picture or news report. In these times of divided politics, my heart goes out to all of these people hurt by wind, rain, and raging water. I am asking for your support to get resources to these people using Samaritan’s Purse.

Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that is usually the first on the ground around the world and in our own country. They quickly provide food, water, power, tools, resources, and most of all, a kind, tender shoulder to cry on. They have the planning and internal support to move resources. They could even use your help on the ground helping. These are the tender, caring moments that America needs – one person at a time. Pet People helping people, pets, and animals.

It's Getting Dangerously Cold, and Christmas Time is Here.

Dear friends,

As many of you know, Western North Carolina has been devastated by the recent hurricane, leaving families, homes, and communities in ruins. The damage is heartbreaking—and as if the storm wasn’t enough, it’s getting dangerously cold in the mountains. With winter setting in and Christmas time just around the corner, many are facing not only the loss of their homes but the added threat of freezing temperatures.

This holiday season, we have an urgent opportunity to help. Our neighbors need us more than ever. They are without power, shelter, and the basic necessities that we often take for granted, especially during the holidays. But together, we can make sure that no one has to face this winter alone.

Every donation, big or small, will provide immediate relief: warm clothing, blankets, food, clean water, and medical supplies. It will also help provide safe shelter, restore homes, and support the long-term recovery efforts in this beautiful but now battered region.

As we enter the season of giving, let’s come together and show the true meaning of Christmas—compassion, kindness, and community. The people of Western North Carolina are resilient, but they need our help to survive this crisis and rebuild in the coming months.

Hello, lately I have felt a weight on my chest watching the news coverage of the aftermath of hurricane Helene. Please donate what you can to help those in need. As a people, we need to stand together and help one another in times of need. All money collected will go to Samaritan's Purse which is an organization based in North Carolina. Samaritan's Purse was also one of the groups that helped our very own community after the dam failure in 2020 that resulted in the destruction of many homes in Midland, Sanford, and the surrounding communities. My name is Ana and as I was thinking about Christmas this year, I received a gift catalog from Samaritan's Purse. When I looked through it, I saw many humanitarian gifts, but one caught my eye. The title said, "Restore sight to the blind". I thought about what it would be like to be blind in a third-world country. How it would affect my family, my finances, and my life. How hard it would be for me to find help or raise funds for the surgery. How impossible it would be for me. Then I remembered that Jesus healed the blind, and that he came to set the captives free. Isn't blindness holding these men, women, and children captive? Unable to live their lives in the freedom to work, go to school, or make a life for themselves! Then I thought, wouldn't it be the greatest gift for these men and women to receive the gift of sight this Christmas. So my wish is to help 100 blind men, women, and children receive their sight this Christmas. I hope for them to receive a phone call that the eye surgery they need will be fully paid for. That they may receive the greatest gift of all. Love.

I am venezuelan and immigrated from venezuela to the united states 9 years ago this year we had a school project to make a difference in someone life and in the world and I immediatly had thought of venezuela because i always thought what if, what if i hadnt left when i was 4 or what if we stayed and most of the time my question is answered from the many venezuelans that stayed a years too long and are still there so now i think imagne if that was my family that needed help so now instead of imagining my family i think there are families there going through so much that i cant imagine going through and hoping to help another family, I still have family in venezuela and we are lucky enough to be able to send them thngs such as medicine, shoes, and clothes but unfortunatly most families dont have people to send them stuff so this charity is to help those people that dont have family outside of venezuela . But not only do I imagine my family I constanly think about the girls and boys my age that wouldnt even have a computer to start a fund or how about when i go to a doctors appointment and think thre are people in venezuela that dont even have access to tylonel and once again i think that couldve been me that couldve been my sister, that couldve been some of my closest friends.So after all that please donate and think what if that was you and your family so even though this is a school project its become so much more.

Este año tuvimos un proyecto escolar para hacer una diferencia en la vida de alguien y en el mundo e inmediatamente pensé en Venezuela porque siempre pensé qué pasaría si, qué pasaría si no me hubiera ido cuando tenía 4 años o qué pasaría si nos quedáramos y la mayoría de las veces mi pregunta es respondida por los muchos venezolanos que se quedaron demasiado tiempo y todavía están allí, así que ahora pienso, imagínense si esa fuera mi familia la que necesitaba ayuda, así que ahora en lugar de imaginar a mi familia, creo que hay familias allí pasando por tanto que no puedo imaginar pasar y esperando ayudar a otra familia, todavía tengo familia en Venezuela y tenemos la suerte de poder enviarles cosas como medicamentos, zapatos y ropa, pero desafortunadamente la mayoría de las familias no tienen personas que les envíen cosas, así que esta organización benéfica es para ayudar a aquellas personas que no tienen familia fuera de Venezuela. Every year, Neighborhood Realty has adopted local families and/or contributed towards organizations that help our community. This year, God has put it on my heart to donate to Samaritan's Purse for their immediate response to our friends and family in Richmond Hill after Debby, and being some of the first responders after the massive destruction and lives lost caused by Helene victims. They are the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus, and their effort and relentlessness should be appreciated and supported.

The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.” For over 50 years, Samaritan’s Purse has followed Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. They are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.

We are raising funds for The Samaritan Purse in support of Operation Christmas Child. This operation sends christmas gift boxes to under privileged countries during the holiday season. Item donation boxes have been placed in SQs around bases (LRS, 351 SWTS, 58 SOW, Dental) as well as in the main lobby of the Exchange. In addition to the item donations, we are asking for cash donations to fund the shipping of these items. Each donation box cost $10 to ship, to meet our current goal of 120 boxes we are hoping to raise at least $1,200. This Go Fund Me event is set up as a charity, meaning all proceeds will go diectly to Samaritan Purse through the site.

As I’m sure you have all seen, Western North Carolina has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. Many people I know are struggling without water, electric, and the ability to leave their homes. One of my colleagues lost her barn.

I would like to do what I can to be of service to my friends and colleagues. I’m asking for any donations you can share.

Our Life Group has filled 60 boxes with school supplies, soccer balls, dolls, clothes, shoes, hygiene items, and fun things for boys and girls around the world.

Operation Christmas Child helps to show Jesus’ love to these children. It costs $10 per box to ship the boxes to foreign countries.
