San Marcos River Foundation

Hi everyone! We are a group of Texas State students, and we’re raising money for the San Marcos River. Our goal is to protect and preserve this beautiful natural resource that means so much to our community. With your support, we can fund conservation efforts, cleanup projects, and initiatives that keep the river clean and thriving for generations to come.

The Edward's Aquifer, which feeds into the San Marcos River, is home to a rare and endangered species of salamander known as the Texas Blind Salamander. Threatened already by a limited range to roam geographically, pollution into the aquifer puts the salamander at a greater risk. Your contribution helps to prevent the contamination of the river, creating a safer environment for the salamander to thrive!

We are on a mission to restore the health and beauty of our rivers—one cleanup at a time. Rivers are vital to our ecosystems, communities, and economy, yet they are under constant threat from pollution and neglect. We believe that clean rivers are essential for a thriving environment, and that every action, no matter how small, contributes to a healthier planet. This campaign is specifically focused on contesting five wastewater treatment permits in order to improve the wastewater discharge that could affect water quality in the river and surrounding tributaries. Legal fees in the process will reach well above $750, and any donation amount will be extremely helpful to ensure the water quality in our river!
