A Park for Sans Souci!
Want to make a major impact in the lives of children and on the environment? We are raising money to revitalize and transform Verner Springs Park, a neglected park, into an engaging, ecologically diverse green space for families to explore, play, and learn. We already have funding through The Greenville Chamber of Commerce to install a new playground and now we need funds to create a border fence to keep kids safe in the park, a parking area, community murals, and a pollinator garden.
This park will protect the environment, increase well being and health of children, encourage community connection, and instill community pride, especially in a part of the community that doesn't have access to a public green space. We also intend to have educational programs such as Neighborhood Naturalists, Art in the Park and outdoor yoga.
Verner Springs Park is a rich and diverse ecosystem with a resident hawk, blue heron, groundhogs, salamanders and more. The addition of a pollinator garden and riparian buffer will prevent erosion which keeps Verner Springs Creek and the Reedy River clean. We want to transform Verner Springs Park into a thriving space for both people and animals!
Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the Sans Souci community.
