About Sedalia Downtown Development, Inc
The organization's mission is to implement and oversee programs to stimulate and promote economic and cultural revitalization for the historic downtown Sedalia commercial district through incentives for historic facade improvements and business and retail recruitment. The organization works closely with City govenment to locate and secure funding for public infrastructure improvements and manages grants associated with various construction projects. The primary focus of revitalization of Sedalia's downtown district is through education and promotion of the importance of historic preservation. The organization owns the former Missouri Pacific Railroad depot which is operated as a multi-modal transportation center and is currently renovating the 1936 Uptown Theatre to use as an entertainment venue.
