We are high school students raising money to help people in India impacted by the second wave of Covid-19.  

Time is of the essence and every dollar counts.  We want to do our bit to help with the current situation in India by providing the impacted people with essentials supplies (Oxygen Concentrators, Food, Medicines, etc). 

We invite fellow students to join this effort and help raise contributions by reaching out to your friends, family, and community.

Sewa International is sending an initial shipment of 400 oxygen concentrators and other emergency medical devices and supplies to India immediately and is working on procuring more from multiple suppliers around the world to ease oxygen shortage caused by the surging numbers of COVID-19 cases in the country.

Sewa has started ‘Help India Defeat COVID-19’ campaign to ship oxygen concentrators to Indian hospitals. Sewa is also providing food and medicines to about 10,000 families and more than 1000 orphanages, and senior citizen centers across the country. Sewa is aiming to raise five million dollars for this effort.

“Sewa has already raised more than one million dollars to help India in its hour of need. We are getting a great response from thousands of donors and expressing a deep desire to help India overcome this crisis. We thank them for their generous and timely contribution,” said Arun Kankani, President of Sewa International.

“We are working closely with many organizations in the US to raise funds for this effort. The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) has partnered with Sewa to fund 200 oxygen concentrators. 

Sewa International (www.sewausa.org) is a 501 (c)(3) Hindu faith-based charitable nonprofit that works in the areas of disaster recovery, education, and development. Sewa has 43 Chapters across the USA and serves regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin.

As some of you are aware, Altus Group's Software Development team is complemented by a team of talented people working for our partner, ValueLabs, in Hyderabad, India.

India has been hard hit by a deadly second wave of COVID-19 infections and healthcare facilities are overwhelmed. Among those directly affected by the health crisis in India are many of our ValueLabs colleagues who have experienced the loss of loved ones.

Many of our colleagues from around the world have expressed a desire to help. We have created an Altus Cares fundraiser via GoFundMe to help those most in need. All money raised will be sent directly to SEWA USA charity. Their “Help India Defeat COVID-19” campaign is raising funds to buy supplies, and ensuring that much-needed lifesaving medical equipment like oxygen-concentrators and ventilators are acquired and shipped to hospitals across India. Altus Group will also be making a donation. Please note that donations are made in USD.

I am a Junior in Ronald Regan High School in San Antonio, Texas and for the last few weeks we have been hearing heart wrenching stories of our family and friends who have been impacted by COVID-19. Some of them, unfortunately, could not make it due to the collapse of the health care system and unavailability of medical supplies. This situation is unfortunate but unacceptable so I am trying to do everything I can to help save some lives. Hello, we are Breathe90: Vikram Kakaria, Arjun Narasimhan, Rohan Kakaria, and Riya Narasimhan. We are 4 cousins living in the USA. Learning about the catastrophic COVID-19 crisis in India, we felt compelled to help ameliorate the devastation caused by this Pandemic upon India’s children. On Mother’s Day 2021, we decided to join hands to raise money for much-needed oxygen supplies because we all deserve to breathe free! We are partnering with a world renowned, non-profit organization called SEWA International. 100% of the money raised in our campaign will go towards SEWA’s emergency medical efforts in India. SEWA will tag our funds as:
"Oxygen for India's Children affected by Covid-19". 

As of early May, India had over 22 million COVID-19 cases which have taken a sharp, upward spike since Feb 2021. Our goal is to help hospitalized children by giving them oxygen concentrators to preserve life.  Normal values of oxygen saturation are 94-100%. Covid-19 affects lungs and the ability of a person to breathe freely. When levels fall below 90%, external oxygen is indicated as a life saving measure.
