With our many clinics based in Pakistan, SHINE (Sustainable Healthcare Initiatives Now Empowering) Humanity is a 501 (c)(3) charity. SHINE follows its mission to providing compassionate, sustainable, preventive and primary healthcare to the underserved by collaborating with in-country partners.

For Diabetic patients living in rural Pakistan, the cost of medications and insulin can be financially draining. The affordability of insulin provided by SHINE has also been a crucial factor for many patients. Along with SHINE’s commitment to providing affordable healthcare it is possible for diabetics to maintain treatment without the added stress of financial burden.

SHINE launched its first Diabetes Program in 2021 at its Gharo Clinic and has since expanded it to its Koohi Goth Clinic. It encompasses medical treatment, lifestyle management and nutritional counselling for patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. We maintain vigilant follow-ups to ensure the community gets the help they need. Screening is done based on HbA1C, a revolutionary step in rural areas, followed by routine blood tests for a holistic point of care.

Our Diabetes Program now supports 795 registered patients in rural Sindh, providing them with free medications and regular follow-ups. Patients receive a range of diagnostic tests at highly subsidized costs, ensuring comprehensive care. This holistic approach not only addresses the immediate medical needs of our patients but also promotes long-term health and well-being.
