Joanie S. Loquist Scholarship Fund
The Joanie Shetterly Loquist Scholarship Fund
Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation
Our precious Tri Sigma sister, Joanie Shetterly Loquist, passed away on May 23, 2016, after more than 7 years battling breast cancer.
All those who knew Joanie recall how she would light up the room with her eyes, smile and melodious laughter. Joanie was an extraordinary friend and sister. She touched and strengthened far more lives than for which, in her modesty, she would ever take credit.
Joanie had a deep desire to help others and felt part of our Sisterhood was the commitment to serve. Therefore, it is our hope we can come together to honor Joanie’s life and desire to serve by establishing an endowed scholarship in her name with the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation.
“The Joanie Shetterly Loquist Scholarship Fund” will provide an annual award to deserving collegians and alumnae in South Carolina.
This scholarship will be an enduring legacy in Joanie’s name for generations to come. The minimum to create this endowed scholarship is $25,000. Once the fund reaches this amount, the first scholarship will be awarded according to the Foundation’s policies and the scholarship agreement.
Our goal is to fully fund this scholarship by October 10th, Joanie’s birthday.
The Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and supports programs consistent with Tri Sigma values.

We are grateful for any help you can provide in making this endowed scholarship in Joanie’s name possible.
