Help Grow the Tiny Forest at Snipes Farm
I am fundraising for the Tiny Forest at Snipes Farm and Education Center to help keep it growing so that it can serve as an educational tool for nature and the environment. My name is Paula Walter, head of Adult Naturalist and Environmental Education, at Snipes Farm and Education Center.
Tiny Forests are small, dense, and fast-growing woodlands of native trees and shrubs that are designed to mimic natural forests in small spaces - like a tennis court. They can provide homes for wildlife like birds, bees, butterflies, and small mammals and support issues of biodiversity, carbon sequestration, air quality, storm water management, soil health, and emotional well-being.
Your contributions will purchase equipment to help keep the Tiny Forest watered for the next 3 years. After that the Tiny Forest should be self-sustaining. Any funds raised beyond the amount needed for the Tiny Forest will be directed to environmental education initiatives including bird habitat, meadow biodiversity, and storm water management. All initiatives from this fund raiser will be highlighted on our website.
Thank you for helping with this initiative and please share this request with other like-minded environmental individuals and organizations!
