Little Augustus desperately needs your help to survive!

Augustus came to SNORT with several potentially critical medical issues, the main one being his cleft palate. When SNORT took him in, he was one month old and weighed less than ONE pound! His cleft palate made it impossible for him to eat like a “normal” puppy and he is now being fed every four hours through an esophageal feeding tube. 

He is being closely monitored by both his foster mom and specialists to make sure he is getting the nutrition he needs and continues to put on weight. 

In addition, on May 2 he visited a neurologist who confirmed Augustus most likely has hydrocephalus (literally meaning "water on the brain") and possibly a L7 vertebral abnormality (hard to definitively diagnose at this point because he is so small). Both would need to be confirmed via MRI but the earliest the hydrocephalus would be addressed via surgery is still several months away, so we will simply continue to monitor him until then. 

Once Augustus is big enough and puts on enough weight, he will undergo surgery for at minimum the cleft palate, in addition to any other issues (such as the hydrocephalus), that require medical attention. 

SNORT is absolutely dedicated to giving Augustus any and all medical attention he needs to thrive, but costs are already mounting and he has yet to undergo surgery!
