The Asheville Chapter of BHS (Q027)

Big News!

In April of 2024, the Land of the Sky Chorus from Asheville, NC, won first place in the district contest and will proudly represent the Carolinas District of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) and western North Carolina (WNC) at the BHS International Competition in Denver in July of 2025. This is the first time in our 76-year history that LOS has won the district competition and qualified for Internationals!

September Update:

In late September, Hurricane Helene struck western North Carolina, including Asheville, causing catastrophic wind damage, flooding, and devastation across the entire region. Many of our members have suffered extensive loss of property and income due to Helene’s impact, and six weeks post-storm, some still lack potable water.

Despite these challenges, the Land of the Sky Chorus is still determined to represent our area and the Carolinas District of the BHS in Denver next summer.

These hardships make this fundraiser critical to helping all our chorus members get to Denver to sing. We are raising $25,000 to cover plane flights, hotel rooms, and convention registration, with costs estimated at $2,000 per person. For many of our members, especially after Helene, this amount is out of reach without assistance.

We’re reaching out to our friends, family, and the entire BHS community for support. With our local community focused on hurricane recovery, every donation through this GoFundMe campaign will help LOS bring our WNC pride to the international stage.
