The team here at Apex Chefs love to give back during the holiday season! GoFundMe is a great place to campaign our charity so that we can give back to those in need. We are two eighth graders currently attending the Sheridan School in Washington DC.  As an end of the year project, we are raising money for the Soles4Souls charity.  Why Soles4Souls?  Well, first of all we both love sneakers and we both love basketball -- we have played on the same basketball team since we were in third grade.  We both also strongly believe Soles4Souls is tackling poverty and making life better for impoverished kids. 

Soles4Souls is an amazing charity that does fantastic work and every nickel you give to us goes directly to Soles4Souls.  We feel privileged to partner with such a wonderful philanthropic organization and we hope you will too!

It is said that to really understand someone, you need to walk a mile in their shoes. There are over 300 million children worldwide who do not have shoes or own adequate footwear and I intend to walk and/or run thousands of miles in their honor, BAREFOOT.

In order to raise awareness for these poor children, I will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for "Most Barefoot Marathons Run in One Year". To set the record, I will need to run at least 50 barefoot marathons at a distance of 26.2 miles each by December 31, 2014. As of July 3rd, I have already set a new Guinness World Record with 50 marathons completely barefooted. However, I will continue to pad this number to reach 100 barefoot marathons before the end of the year.

Please help me raise money to provide these impoverished children with valuable protection from harmful wounds and infectious diseases. Through the Soles4Souls charity program, 100% of your donation will go towards providing a pair of shoes to poor children living in the Philippines and the Pacific Islands.
