The South Florida Role Model Foundation’s founders are four deputy sheriffs’ that all originated from lower-income communities here in South Florida. Growing up a minority in South Florida has its challenges. We understand the dynamics of those challenges. With most of us growing up in single-parent households, we live breathing examples that hard work, goals, and dreams can make a difference in your future. Have we all had negative encounters with law enforcement? Yes, but we are here to change the narrative. We want our young adults to know that you can make it! Law enforcement isn’t out to get us. We must provide a positive example of how to interact with law enforcement and with families. We want to be there to help young men tie their first tie, get their first job, or sitting down an
