Humanitarian Crisis in Magwi County
Your help is urgently needed.
The Acholi people, a small tribe located in South Sudan, are facing genocide, and forced displacement from their tribal lands.
An influx of armed cattle herders traveled 327 km from Jonglei State and invaded Magwi County. On Feb 27, 2022, a large heavily armed tribe called the Dinka Bor, launched an attack on the indigenous of Magwi County, leaving displacement of at least 10,000 Acholi people.
They killed and slaughters women and children, murdered entire families and burnt at least 87 homes. In addition to the brutal killings, their cows are currently grazing on Acholi farms thereby destroying their crops and livelihood.
The Acholi people who are simple farmers and fishermen, have now fled from their lawful ancestral land. The majority, mostly women, children and the elderly and the sick are now seeking refuge in a small town called Magwi.
They need food, shelter, medications, and treatments for festering gunshot wounds in survivors. Women, pregnant women, children, the sick and the elderly have been targeted.
Your contribution is sent through SSANA Inc., a US registered non profit organization consisting of Acholi people living in the US and Canada.
Their current President, John Bosco Ayella, who resides in Memphis, TN launched this initiative and personally guarantees that every dollar donated will be sent directly to the displaced Acholi people.
Mr. Ayella is also petitioning the US and South Sudanese governments to immediately and peacefully remove the Dinka Bor invaders and their livestock out of Acholiland.
Your contribution will make a significant difference. Be generous! It is 100% tax deductible. Please donate now.
