Fund Mindful Movement in Pinellas County Schools
Come join us in making a difference for our youth. We are raising money to benefit Speakeasy Media Foundation’s Mindful Movement program. Your donation will help make an impact and allow Mindful Movement to continue building a culture of mindfulness in the Pinellas County School system.
Mindful Movement takes a holistic approach to helping students become their most well-balanced, educated, and healthy selves. We are addressing the long-term health and wellness needs of youth from underserved populations.
In September 2023, Mindful Movement will begin its 7th year of service with Pinellas County schools. Our goal is to add 4 more schools to our portfolio for a total of 14 public schools. While we will still have the support of the Pinellas County School system, we know that funding for Title 1 programs will be significantly less than in years past.
Just $5,000.00 guarantees 28 weeks of Mindful Movement instruction for up to 14 student scholars at a single Pinellas County school. Teachers and administrators recognize and support the value of this important intervention for their scholars.
Research has shown that yoga and mindfulness help students:
• Improve grades and test scores as well as engagement in learning
• Reduce stress as it relates to test-taking and exams
• Self-reregulate and better understand their emotions to make better decisions and choices daily
• Improve relationships with peers, siblings, family members, teachers, and the community-at-large
