In August I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia right before I was planning to move to Tampa for school. It certaintly changed the course of my next couple years but I’ve been grateful to have the best doctors and support system. My goal is to earn a little extra money through tips to gift to St. Jude who is the leading research hospital for pediatric cancers. I would love to be able to help out the organization however possible after all they’ve done throughout my treatment.

It's that time of year again! AUI has selected it's 2024 charitable contribution candidate and this year, it will be St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. You have all given SO generously in the past through toys for tots and we are so grateful to have the wonderful employees we have. AUI has set a goal amount of $5,000 this year for St. Jude's. Thank you so much for supporting children and their families facing the scariest and most difficult time in their lives.

Hi, I'm Kirra Hopper, and I'm 12 years old. I'm starting this fund during the holidays to support sick children at St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The holiday season is such a joyous time, and it's not fair that some children have to spend the time in a hospital. None of them deserve it. Even though I'm starting this fund for the holidays, I want this to go on for years.

The first time I raised money for St. Jude's was in 5th grade. I started a club with my friends called "Club You Matter," and we planned a bake sale to raise money during our lunches and recess times. We had a bake sale at our school farmer's market a couple of weeks later, and we raised $800. It felt great, and I was so happy to know that my friends and I made a difference to those kids.

Now, 2 years later, I want to do it again. However, with busy middle school life and sports teams, I didn't have time to do a bake sale or a lemonade stand, so I discovered GoFundMe. I decided to make a fund for the holidays, and here we are! My goal is to raise $2,500 for the children within a couple of months. (I wanted to finish that goal for the holiday season, but it's a little late for that.)
