Street Health DC: bringing health to DC streets
In the 2022 Point in Time count, there were 690 persons living unsheltered (i.e. “on the street”) in the District of Columbia. This population disproportionately suffers from acute and chronic illnesses, mental illness, and trauma, and often lacks adequate resources to manage their health needs. During this past year, over 70 of our community members passed away while living on the streets of our nation’s capital. While no amount of health care can provide the health and wellness afforded by a safe, decent, and affordable home, Street Health DC works to minimize the preventable health harms due to living on the street. We serve the medical and non-medical needs of individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness while bringing attention to the harm to health caused by homelessness to advocate for affordable housing for all.
Your donation will go directly to medical supplies, medications, hygiene products and personal items to help our community members stay healthy as we assist to find stable housing.
Thank you for your donation!
