beestung is a quarterly online micro-magazine for non-binary and two-spirit writers and readers, with an emphasis on intracommunity sensibilities. beestung resists the canon and all forms of bigotry, and is entirely volunteer-run under the imprint of Sundress Publications , a 501(c)3 non-profit.

beestung publishes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, hybrids, and art by creators who fall under the two-spirit and non-binary umbrellas, with specific attention to historically underrepresented writers.

beestung will never charge a submission fee.

Who's behind beestung?

Sarah Clark is a disabled non-binary Native (Nanticoke) editor, writer, and cultural consultant. They are Editor-in-Chief of beestung, Editor-in-Chief and Features & Reviews Editor at ANMLY, Co-Editor at the Bettering American Poetry series, a reader for Serotonin Poetry, and a Co-Editor of The Queer Movement Anthology. They curated ANMLY‘s GLITTERBRAIN folio on mental health by trans and queer writers of color, a folio on Indigenous & Decolonial Futures & Futurisms, and edited Drunken Boat‘s folios on Sound Art, “Desire & Interaction,” and a collection of global indigenous art and literature, “First Peoples, Plural.” They were co-editor of Apogee Journal‘s #NoDAPL #Still Here folio, and co-edited Apogee Journal‘s series “WE OUTLAST EMPIRE,” of work against imperialism, and “Place[meant],” on place and meaning, and has guest edited for Glass Poetry‘s Poets Respond series. Sarah has previously read for Sundress Publications’ Best of the Net and Curious Specimens anthologies and is a former Co-Curator at Poets in Pajamas. Formerly, they served as a VIDA Board Member.
