A $ a Day for Sunrise Day Camp
In 2008 I started raising money for Sunrise. It was not until several summers after that I realized the real impact of my donation. At the time I had picked out an overhead waveladder (monkey bars) to donate. In 2010, as I turned 16, I went to work at camp as a counselor for the youngest campers, the acorns. That was when I saw for my very eyes campers swinging on the very waveladder my donation installed. I closed my eyes and heard the laughater of children. At that moment, while they were on the playground, they were not worrying about the next chemotherpy session, surgery or doctor's appointment. They were given the freedom to be children. That is why I am asking for everyone to donate a dollar a day ($30) in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness month. I hope to raise enough money to send at least one more camper to camp in summer 2018, so they get the chance to be a kid. I thank everyone in advance for helping me!
