Funds raised will go towards continuation of peer reviewed herbal cancer research and treatment led by PhD Ethnobotany researcher Dr. Summer Ragosta and Ivelyn Harris, Direct Descendant of Queen Nanny of the Maroons and author of the book 'HEALING HERBS OF JAMAICA'. Dr. Ragosta and Ivelyn Harris previously published their herbal cancer ethnobotany research in Ghana in the Journal of Ethnobiology on funds raised from iTunes music sales from John Butler, Slightly Stoopid, The Pharcyde, Digable Planets, Wayne Cobham, Burning Spear, The Soul Vendors and more. The goal is to support Indigenous led herbal cancer research and treatment with guidance from the King of the Kormantse on land in Ghana as an expansion of already accomplished pilot project efforts led by Surfing Medicine International 501(c)(3) since 2013 on cancer research coordinated by Dr. Ragosta and Ivelyn Harris in collaboration with already established herbal treatment centers and the King of the Kormantse (an Indigenous group in Ghana). Success of the project will dependent on amount of funds raised to help expand on an already functioning traditional herbalist network and site to support herbalists to conduct their work to aid underrepresented persons suffering from cancer and infectious disease.
