The TCGI Foundation 12 Days of Giving Campaign
The TCGi Foundation
The TCGi Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization. Our foundation’s priorities map to our values of removing the barriers; developing and nurturing STEM talent and opportunities for Black girls and women; helping to fund their college education and creating sustainability as they navigate the workplace. Last year TCGi hosted its inaugural golf event on Juneteenth to honor two of our fallen family members, Dawna J. Colbert and John Fitzpatrick. There we awarded $25,000 in scholarships to 3 black women pursuing STEM degrees. In 2023, we will host this event again on Juneteenth with the goal of expanding our scholarship to 10 recipients. The Foundation will also be hosting a second event next Fall that will bring together Tech women and the Beauty industry. More on this to come.
We invite you to help us change lives and drive much-needed change in the world. Please join us.
Dawna J Colbert Scholarship
We honor one of the original members of the TCGI team. It was in no small measure, through her hard work, dedication, industry knowledge and her attention paid to enhancing great customer relationships that allowed TCGi to succeed and thrive. And Dawna did all this while battling cancer.
We all shared champagne on the occasion of the announcement of her remission last year. Unfortunately, after fighting a good and valiant fight, Dawna passed away.
At Dawna’s funeral, in honor of her extraordinary life and service, Avis announced the Dawna J. Colbert Scholarship, whose purpose is “To provide funds for female and/or minority college students desiring to study Computer Science, IT or Engineering“. This scholarship is her legacy.
John Fitzpatrick Scholarship
Technology Concepts Group Intl (TCGi) is saddened to announce the passing of John (Jack to his friends and family) Fitzpatrick on Sunday, April 25, 2021. John succumbed quickly to an aggressive form of lung cancer.
John had been with TCGi for a little over two years. In his role as Regional Account Manager, he was responsible for customer relations with numerous accounts who will all miss his gregarious personality and brilliant smile.
John enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He had just returned from a few months in Orlando, FL, enjoying the warmth while working remotely. He was an avid golfer and always looked forward to teeing off with friends and business associates. In remembrance, we've created both a graduate scholarship & Annual Golf Tournament in his name. You can click the link below to find out more details about our golf classic, which is geared toward raising money for our scholarship programs.
This program was created to assist those who are looking to further their career, expand their knowledge of the technology world, and bring the infectious amount of enthusiasm that John brought.
