That's the plan but we need your help. Team Colorado Cycling, a CO non-profit, has taken the reins from new owners BVV Holdings to revitalize the velodrome to its former glory and move forward beyond your expectations.

Restorations are already underway, and as you can imagine the list of repairs is long and expensive. We have hired contractors and ordered materials and Sherwin-Williams will provide our final surface. We now need the community's time and money so that we can open full-time with weekly racing and community events in early summer. The BVV is a landmark in Erie where we plan to host community events throughout the summer, including movie nights and concerts, festivals, and fun activities for families of all ages.

It is time for us to upgrade our stadium lighting at the Boulder Valley Velodrome to LEDs.

This means that we will be able to run classes, open sessions, and racing much later in the evening than we have since we re-opened the facility. Currently we are operating 18 standard 1500W metal halide stadium lights that require 20-30 minutes of warmup time and most importantly put the BVV in a very expensive energy reserve rate program with Xcel energy. Not only will it reduce our cost significantly, we will reduce our energy consumption by over 50% and we will move out of the Xcel reserve rate program.

We have identified a commercial electrical contractor that has worked with us to complete a light study of the facility and we are ready to go forward with the project. Partners For Clean Environment (PACE) and Xcel offer rebates to cover 50% of the installation. We need the track community to help make this happen.
