Help Student Robotics Team Get Fabrication Equipment
You can make a difference by donating today to Team Tundrabots (dba Biome Robotics). We carry out our mission to serve 7th-12th grade students in the greater Raleigh-Durham / RTP area of North Carolina by modeling good character, instilling a passion for how things work, and providing the necessary skills needed in today’s STEM-centric workplace primarily through creating and running student robotics teams that participate in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competitions.
We need your help to take our fabrication skills to the next level! While we are fortunate to have access to useful power tools such as bandsaws, bench sanders, and a drill press, as well as a 3D printer, we would like our students to gain experience fabricating custom parts using other modern tools that they would use in the professional world: a desktop CNC machine, vacu-form table/press, and updated benchtop bandsaw miter table. These funds would also be used for other ancillary tools such as a vacuum/dust collection system.
We currently send work out to machine shops across the country to fabricate custom plastic, composite, and metal parts which often takes many days if not weeks. Your donation will help us save valuable time during our competition season by enabling us to build our own parts in-house, in addition to giving our students valuable experience that they can use in the real world.
We are currently gearing up for the 2024-25 FIRST Tech Challenge Season and are planning to have two teams with a total of just under 30 students. Donate today to help our students make the most out of this and future seasons. We'll be sure to keep you up-to-date on our progress on learning how to use the new tools, as well as keep you apprised of our efforts in FTC tournaments.
Thank you for supporting Biome Robotics!
