Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation

We are raising funds to assist with Testicular Cancer Awareness, Research, and Education. Testicular cancer is the leading cancer in men ages 15 to 44 but can strike at any age. In this age group, more men will die of testicular cancer than women of breast cancer. In fact, every hour a male is diagnosed with testicular cancer - approximately 9,720 new cases will arise in 2025 in the United States. The average age of a male diagnosed with testicular cancer is 33 years old and approximately 600 deaths will occur in 2025. 1 out of every 250 males will develop testicular cancer in their lifetime. HOWEVER, if detected early, testicular cancer is over 95% curable. This is where the education and awareness come in.

The Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation strives to encourage early detection through the practice of monthly self-exams and to remove the stigma and taboo associated with testicular cancer. Their mission is to help educate the public about testicular cancer, treatments, financial assistance, social support, survivorship and fundraising opportunities through their many programs.

As of October 2024, I am a survivor of Testicular Cancer.

Members of the Winfield PBA Local 360 will stop shaving and grooming for the month of November. Participants can also donate money they would have spent on shaving or encourage others to donate in their support.

No-Shave November helps to:

Increase early cancer detection, diagnosis, and effective treatments.

Reduce the number of preventable deaths.

Change the face of men's health.

Promote open conversations about mental health.

Why I’m Fundraising for Men’s Health Awareness

To be honest, I got extremely lucky. I did not educate myself or put regular checkups/self-exams at the top of my priority list. In fact, even when I stumbled upon something that felt off, I still neglected to see a doctor for about a month thinking, "Oh, this is probably nothing." Unfortunately, it was not nothing, and I quickly entered a world of multiple opinions, surgery, treatment plans, and uncertainty about what the rest of my life would look like.

As a cancer survivor, I now know firsthand how critical it is to be proactive about our health. My journey thus far has taught me that early detection can make all the difference, but too often, men ignore warning signs or delay seeing a doctor until it’s too late.

This National Men’s Health Awareness Month and through the holidays, I’m raising funds to spread awareness and encourage men everywhere to prioritize their health. The goal is simple: to make sure more men know the importance of regular checkups and to empower them to take immediate action if something feels off.

With your support, we can create more awareness and help men understand that caring for their health isn’t just an option; it’s essential. Every donation goes toward campaigns and resources that encourage men to listen to their bodies and seek medical guidance early on.

We are once again raising money for TCAF as we believe they are the best charity that provides the most up-to-date information on what to look out for and gives back to patients going through their own battles. My name is Michael Sanders. I am running UTMB Canyons 100 Mile race in Auburn, Ca. Race Day is April 26th which lands in Testicular Cancer Awarness Month!

As a survivor of Testicular cancer, I wanted to add some meaning to this run by raising money/awareness for Testicular cancer. I have been training for over 1 year for this event and it will be the biggest physical accomplishment I have ever attempted.

I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in December of 2019.

I endured 2 surgeries and 3 rounds of Chemotherapy.

I am currently in remission and plan to stay that way!

Sean, Kevin and I have a story that is, unfortunately, more common than it should be. Testicular cancer is not something on most young, healthy men's minds. We're hosting this GoFundMe, and our event, in coordination with the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation to help raise funds for those who spread awareness, those who educate and those who are there to help provide guidance when it feels like everything you know is crumbling around you.

”You have cancer” are three words I could never have imagined hearing, and yet, two weeks ago I was diagnosed with testicular cancer, the number one cancer in young men aged 15-44 years old.

While my cancer journey is just beginning, I realize how fortunate I am to have access to an incredible team of medical professionals at Penn Medicine, while so many young men have neither geographic access nor the financial resources to get the care they need.

This year for my birthday, I’m hoping to raise as much funding as possible for the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation, an organization solely focused on saving young men’s lives by raising awareness of this quite common but heavily stigmatized disease through education and self-testing, in addition to supplying nominal financial grants to those with immediate financial needs.

Awareness starts with breaking down the stigma. Here’s my deal: on Tuesday, Oct 11, my treatment journey begins with a procedure called an orchiectomy, a full removal of the diseased testicle and spermatic cords. It’ll be followed up with additional diagnostic testing to assess staging and potential spread, which will determine future treatment pathways. I remain confident and optimistic I’ll beat this, but that’s because I know I’m fortunate enough to be in the hands of an incredibly talented team and supported by an unshakeable and determined circle of loving family and friends and the most incredible and steadfast partner.

If I can give a ball, you can give a damn. Please help with a small donation in honor of my birthday and to help all the other young men out there who need to be educated on self-testing before it’s too late, or those enduring economic crisis who need funding to access life-saving treatment.

November 1 has become a very special date for the Enterlin family. The last 9+ Novembers the Enterlin bros have grown mustaches (Fats' stache has improved each year) in order to raise money for testicular cancer awareness. Kevin has been diagnosed twice, Michael has been diagnosed once, and Jake has been recently diagnosed. All brothers are doing well and kicked cancer's ass. Luckily each of the Enterlin brothers are doing well due to early detection and learning about the signs and symptoms of TC. We continue to choose TCAF for this exact reason. They do a great job spreading the word about what to look out for to help save lives. Feel free to donate to our cause. If not, growing out a stache or leg hair for girls and spreading the word is just as good!

James Gray is a 20-year-old university student studying at Newcastle University, England. On May 28th, James will be taking on a grueling challenge where he’ll be cycling from one side of the States to the other, covering a distance of over 3,800 miles across 10 States, in just 40 days! James’ challenge, Across the States in 40 Days, is all in aid of raising awareness of testicular cancer, a disease he became aware of during his time at university through the talks delivered by The OddBalls Foundation’s University Ambassadors. James was motivated to make a difference, and so he will be riding to support The OddBalls Foundation, a UK charity raising awareness of testicular cancer, and the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation based in America.
