Overpopulation in dogs and cats is a serious issue—15 million animals are euthanized every year in shelters across the United States simply because there aren’t enough homes. Spaying and neutering save lives by preventing unwanted litters, reducing shelter overcrowding, and improving pet health.

We’re a team of UNT students raising funds for the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP), a nonprofit providing low-cost spay/neuter, vaccines, and essential vet care to pets across North Texas. Many families struggle to afford vet care, and TCAP ensures no pet goes without medical attention.

Approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide annually, 920,000 of which are euthanized. Every day in Texas, countless cats and dogs face an uncertain future simply because there aren’t enough resources to care for them. We partnered with The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP), which strives to change this by offering low-cost spay and neuter services, reducing the overwhelming number of homeless and feral pets. Consider this: one unspayed female cat and her offspring can lead to 370,000 kittens in 7 years. We can’t do it alone—we need compassionate people like you to help us give these animals a chance at a better life, providing them with the hope they deserve.

Our goal of $500 is enough to fund 20 full sets of vaccines, 16 microchips, or 10 sterilization surgeries for local animals. Your donation goes directly towards providing these essential surgeries to animals in need, making it possible for low-income families and rescue organizations to access affordable treatments. Just $50 funds one surgery that can prevent countless future strays, breaking the cycle of neglect and overpopulation, and promoting healthier, more stable communities.
