About Texas Surf Conservancy

The mission of the Texas Surf Conservancy is to work collaboratively across disciplines and industries to promote the health of marine habitats and support oyster mariculture along the Gulf Coast of Texas. Since January of 2021, our facility serves as a training site for partners from Texas Parks & Wildlife, Sea Grant Texas, Texas A & M University, and the Texas Agricultural Extension. We regularly provide working tours and extensive information to prospective oyster farmers and others interested in this burgeoning Texas seafood industry. We also serve as a living classroom for students from local elementary and high schools to those involved in doctoral work at Harte Research Institute.
