All women are strong, but sometimes need help...
The Bridge to Life is a woman’s support center located in Queens, New York. Since 1992 they have been a vital resource for the women and children throughout all 5 boroughs. They provide informative, honest, and compassionate counseling to empower pregnant women to choose life while serving their families. Bridge provides support, guidance and material assistance to help these moms to raise their children in a loving and secure environment. They ensure that all women have the resources they need to make life-affirming choices during pregnancy, and throughout the lives of their children.
The Bridge to Life runs the largest material assistance program in New York City, and distributes nearly one million dollars worth of baby clothes, layettes, diapers, cribs, strollers and various items to more than 5,000 women and children each year. With great care and compassion they are there to serve the most vulnerable in the community in there time of need. Women struggling through financially difficult times can return to Bridge every 3 months for continued services and assistance for themselves and all their children, until their child reaches size 12 in clothing. All their services are free and confidential, and made possible through donations from people who care.
The Bridge to Life works within a network of organizations to ensure that the needs of our moms are met with compassion and dignity. Their work is vital to the community they serve, but now they urgently need your help. In order for them to continue the life-affirming work they do and continue providing these crucial services to those in need, they need to lease, purchase or build a new facility. Unfortunately they must be out of the location they called home by May of next year. Not only have they lost their lease, but they have outgrown their current space. The consistent increase in the number of people coming in for assistance has placed a demand on them to find a larger facility. This new building will help them maintain the care they provide to mothers and their families who often come to them from shelters, are victims of domestic violence, or are single moms that are facing financial difficulties or unfortunate circumstances.
Thank you in advance for the care you’ve shown. Together we can make a difference by providing support, guidance, and assistance to those around us. Together we can simultaneously empower, strengthen, and serve these moms during a difficult time in their lives.
