The CARE Foundation is used to rescuing exotic ex-pets, that shouldn’t have been pets to begin with. Animals such as tigers, monkeys, raccoons, birds, & reptiles of all types, call CARE their permanent home. Suddenly it’s CARE that could use some rescuing.
While The CARE Foundation does it’s best to bring in funds on its own, for the last 20 years one specific group every year chose to raise money to help CARE continue. This group was especially helpful through the pandemic when one of our main sources of income closed down permanently. With their continued support, we not only survived, but were able to continue to take in animals that were in need.
Recently, this group had changed its board of directors & without any warning, dropped us as its chosen charity. This came as a complete surprise since just a few weeks prior, they were planning additional fundraisers for & at our facility.
The sudden loss of their fundraiser is devastating to The CARE Foundation. Every year this group held a big convention at approximately the same time, & consistently donated a minimum of $50,000 over the last several years. It was because of this 20-year history that we based much of our yearly budget on. Now, the remainder of this year is uncertain.
All further expansions & projects are on hold. We are in survival mode. Between power bill, animal food, medical needs, & maintenance of animal housing, we will only be scraping by.
Please help us help them. When we said that we would give them a safe, loving, & permanent home, we truly meant it.
