STEMmersion Fundraising Challenge
Who We Are
Hello! We are the Dayton Regional STEM School (DRSS), a public, independent STEM school located in Kettering, Ohio. We serve students in grades 6 - 12, who represent 35 school districts across seven counties.
Our mission is to prepare students with the skills necessary to compete in the global economy while nurturing the same enthusiasm for discovery, invention, and application that launched the vision for powered flight. The mission is inspired by the Dayton region’s history and is aimed at ensuring its future success.
STEMmersion
Each year, during the last two and a half weeks of the school year, students at the Dayton Regional STEM School (DRSS) take part in a program called, “STEMmersion”. The students are "immersed in STEM” by attending the same class each day for the entire two and a half weeks. The idea for these courses is to foster a love of learning and a deeper understanding of content through immersive experiences. Examples of past STEMmersion courses have ranged from learning how to build smartphone apps and satellite dishes, to physical fitness and geocaching at area parks.
How the Money Will be Used
Your support helps DRSS to cover costs associated with STEMmersion 2016. This includes transportation, instruction, and course material. Your gift helps create a positive, valuable learning experience!
The STEMmersion Challenge
From March 1 - April 1, 2016, we are challenging all of our stakeholders to donate and raise $2,500. This will match a $2,500 gift generously donated to STEMmersion by Jon & Tricia Croake-Uleman, parents of a DRSS student.
Join us in the challenge and make a contribution to STEMmersion. All 625 of our students will benefit from your donation as they experience STEMmersion first-hand this year.
