The Coronavirus outbreak has inevitably changed our lives. People around the globe are in pandemic.
The Epoch Times has been tirelessly reporting the facts since the beginning. We have people inside China who risk their lives to send us first-hand information, and we believe today’s hardship is a direct link to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party/Chinese Government regime).

On top of the coverup, CCP utilizes this pandemic for its global dominating ambition by hoarding medical supplies and holding Americans as hostage.  They are getting ready to buy American businesses since they are anticipating that our economy will crash. Unfortunately, this seriousness of situation is not sufficiently called out,  while confusion is everywhere, and we are blaming each other. There is also a big disinformation campaign by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leveraging their allies in our media and in our institutions.

We launched a campaign to create short videos debunking the lies and explaining what the CCP has done and is still doing. Our goal is to email these videos and messages to 100+ million Americans and make them go viral.

Thanks to your support and referrals, we have recently become the fastest-growing newspaper in the country. In this climate, this indicates that people are hungry for our values, factual coverage, and traditional journalistic approach. The Epoch Times was founded to be a voice for the community and society, and it belongs to you and all of our readers. You are as much part of it as we are. We need to expand our presence even more so we can have an impact on the future of this country. Our local office is expanding our circulation in California, Arizona, and Nevada.


Recently we have been able to grow our subscriptions by sending sample newspapers to people who might be interested in reading our paper. We have had excellent results from these sampling campaigns. We want to reach out to more people, but we are short of funds for printing and shipping. Our staff and volunteers can handle the labor, but we need your help with the funds for printing and shipping.


We plan to expand our sampling campaign to at least 2,500,000 households over the next 12 months. With this sampling campaign, we can gain a significant number of subscribers and ultimately fund the expansion of our local content and investigative journalism. Since there is a positive return on the campaign, we plan to reinvest the funds into sending more samples, and it will only cost us 9.5 cents to reach a potential household of readers. Therefore, we need $240,000 to achieve this goal. We plan to target 20 key counties with an average of 125,000 targeted homes in each. We will need $12,000 per county.


Please help support us by donating any amount possible. For every $10, we can reach 105 households. To send samples to each county, we can achieve our goal if 20 people pledge $50 per month or 33 people give $1 per day.

Greetings!

 

One year ago, despite any prior experience in the newspaper industry, I left the family business to become the Circulation Manager of the Epoch Times. My relatives and friends were shocked when I left behind a comfortable job and a good income. They thought I was throwing away my future, instead of understanding that I needed to follow my dream. I was not surprised by their responses, as at that moment the Epoch Times Southern California Edition distributed only 2,000 copies each week and there were less than 60 subscribers.

 

I realize that we have a problem with the mainstream media and I want to help. The Epoch Times is one of the few newspapers dedicated to seeking the truth through insightful and independent journalism and delivering it to our readers. This is the only reason for me to work for it. Fortunately, I was not alone. I work together with several others who are also willing to dedicate to the Epoch Times. With limited experience and resources we grew the Epoch Times tenfold to 20,000 copies each week in only a year and now have more than 700 newspaper distribution locations in Southern California. More are being developed in Arizona and Las Vegas.

 

Now we face a new challenge coming with the rapid increase in subscriptions which we are happy to see. The volunteer distribution team are overloaded to hand pack the newspaper and it is getting much more difficult to release our newspapers on time. We are looking to purchase packing and labeling machines so we can deliver more papers to more readers in more locations. We urgently looking for automation so the volunteers don’t have to manually fold, wrap and label each subscribed paper. You might say we’re ‘working our fingers to the bone’!

 

Being part of an independent, and 501©-3 non-profit organization, the challenge and pressure are inevitable for all of my colleagues.
