https://www.news4jax.com/community/2025/03/26/foster-closet-seeks-community-support-to-continue-aiding-foster-children-amid-funding-cuts/Recently, our partnership with a child-welfare agency, within Jacksonville, with whom we have partnered for the past 14 years, decided to cut our funding in half without prior notice. This unexpected reduction has created an insurmountable financial challenge for us. Despite our efforts and numerous fundraisers throughout the years, we find ourselves unable to sustain the level of services that our foster homes have come to rely upon.
However, it was a step we had to take to ensure that we do not compromise on the quality of support and services during this transition period.
Our work is not done. With our 17 years supporting the community, We have had to revamp our nonprofit business model to adjust to the nuances of how to pay for the overhead cost which were once provided.
We have decided to become a Thrift Store for the foster care community and other charitable organizations.
- The Goal for this GoFundMe is to raise the monetary funds to jump start a Thrift Store in this economy to help support the overhead needed. Need $12,000 minimum to start. (First and Last month's rent)

- We are looking for retail space to start FC Thrift Store. Looking at a minimum of 3,000 sq ft - Cost $6,000 a month.
- Needing help with software to start FC Thrift Store.- Costs $3,000.00 for the year.
