Wisdom Academy
Located in Kitase, Ghana, Wisdom Academy has been Operation Wisdom's oldest partner for over a decade (www.operationwisdom.org). Founded by Kennedy Aboagye, the private school focuses on providing students with a quality education unavailable at public schools in the area.
This spring, 15 Wake County students traveled with Operation Wisdom to Ghana and visited Wisdom Academy. After spending a few days bonding with locals through dancing, playing games, teaching, and most of all learning, the young global leaders felt a strong connection to the school. Towards the end of the trip, the 15 students learned that Wisdom Academy's bathroom must be replaced, as it was declared unusable by the Ghanaian Environmental Protection Agency. With a sense of urgency, they decided to donate the last of their funds (about $400) to the project.
Replacing the bathroom is a $3000 USD operation. The one thousand already donated has laid the foundation pictured below, but much is still needed. 403 Wisdom Academy students left for break on Friday, April 13th, and will return after one month's time. If the facility is not replaced before then, they school will be forced to shut down. There is a deep sense of urgency here. Any contributions you are able to give to help us raise the remaining $2000 are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
