Kili Climb for Orphan Education
“Support me as I climb 19,341 feet to Uhuru Peak – the top of Mount Kilimanjaro! Why? To raise the funds necessary to educate 120 of our orphans for one year! 100% of your gift will go directly towards the cost of educating these children.
Help us to sponsor every foot to the top of the mountain, with a total goal of $19,341.
Please consider donating any amount to get us to our goal. Every dollar raised is a foot closer to the top! It is only through the donations of our supporters that we are able to change the lives of these orphans. Help us to provide a bright future for children who would have no future without your support. howFar will you go?” - Mark Maynard
The How Far Foundation is a 501(c3) international humanitarian aid agency. Our goal is to partner with marginalized and in-crisis people groups across sub-Saharan Africa in order to improve their well-being.
The How Far Foundation is currently supporting 120 orphaned children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Most of these children have lived through the nightmare of seeing their parents killed during the ongoing clashes with rebel groups that have been active for the last twenty years.
(All of our children at the howFar Orphanage - Goma, DR Congo)
As of now, these children are being housed, clothed and fed, but are missing out on the opportunity of an education. It is our goal to raise the funds necessary to send all 120 children to school for a year. The breakdown for tuition will look like this: 120 Orphans x $15 per month/student x 11 months = $19,800.

Mark Maynard will depart for Africa in late June to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest freestanding mountain in the world – standing at 19,341ft (5895m).
