TO SAVE AND RESTORE WHITES HALL, JOHNS HOPKINS' CIRCA 1780 BIRTHPLACE AND BOYHOOD HOME. A MUSEUM, EXPLORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF JOHNS HOPKINS AND OF THE RICH HISTORY OF THE WHITES HALL PLANTATION AND FARM, WILL BE DEVELOPED ON THE PROPERTY. A SERIES OF SMALL COLONIAL COTTAGES WILL BE DEVELOPED AND AVAILABLE FOR SHORT-TERM RENTAL STAYS, FURTHER CONTRIBUTING REVENUE TO SUPPORT MUSEUM PROGRAMMING. IN ADDITION, MONIES GENERATED BY COTTAGES BUILT ON THE PROPERTY WILL FUND MINORITY SCHOLARHSHIPS IN THE NAMES OF FORMER WHITE HALL SLAVES. THE MUSEUM WILL INCLUDE A REPLICA SLAVE QUARTERS AND A RECONSTRUCTED 18TH CENTURY TOBACCO BARN (TO OPERATE AS AN ADJUNCT TO THE MUSEUM BUT ALSO AS A CAFE, BAKERY, WINE-TASTING, AND EVENT-RECEPTION AREA).
