The Middle Way Sanctuary

Hello! The Middle Way Sanctuary is a 501c3 non profit dedicated to providing sanctuary for humans and horses, especially wild horses. You can help us expand our mission so we can help even more mustangs by donating here!

It costs our sanctuary approximately $5000 per year to care for and feed one horse (and many of our school horses are older and need special care which costs more). The horses currently at the sanctuary are here for life which limits the number of wild horses we can take in to the five that we support today. If you can donate toward our pilot adoption program, we can raise enough money to adopt one more mustang out of holding, train the basics, then find their forever home. With our new adoption program, we are planning to get one or two more mustangs out of holding every year and into safe and loving homes, with ongoing training support from our staff. This way we can continue to help and save more mustangs.

IT'S CRUNCH TIME!! The BLM online adoption event starts March 13 and ends March 20. The image here is Scenic, taken from the BLM website. She is Razzle's granddam and we would like to bring them back together (read on for more information!).

If you would like to see us bring Scenic and another mustang home to The Middle Way then we need to know we will have the financial support we need to give them the very best care. It costs close to $5000/year to maintain each horse - not counting the improvements we have been making with our local volunteers (and friends who come from afar) to build shelters and put up fencing to keep our horses safe and comfortable.

Can you help us make a difference for our nation's wild horses? Sadly, as the BLM's Path Forward continues more and more wild horses will be put up for adoption. We are a very small non profit and we know we can't save them all, but can you help us save this one? Another one?

Scenic is the FIRST Painted Lady and we would love to see her back with Razzle, Dazzle and Felicity.

With your full ($425 per month) or part (whatever you feel comfortable with!) sponsorship of one of our wild horses you can have confidence in the knowledge that you have kept a wild horse safe at The Middle Way's sanctuary. Our farm is open by appointment for you to meet, interact and learn about the horses.

Your donation goes directly to feed, care and training as well as to make our wild horses as comfortable as we can while they adjust to their new lives in captivity. On our agenda for this year is to add more shelters to protect our horses from the elements, cross fence the property with a track system to maximize our space for the horses' optimal health, add paddocks and shelters and ensure that all our horses, not just our mustangs have food in their bellies and the proper care that they deserve. We can't do all this without your help!

Saving Scenic

The matriarch of The Painted Ladies

is needing our help and prayers,

You see she lost her freedom a while ago

and is penned up with other captured mares.

If it wasn't for Scenic there would be no

Razzle, Dazzle and Felicity,

There would be no Painted Ladies

they'd be just a dream, a fleeting fantasy.

But Razzle, Dazzle and Felicity are real

and we have Scenic to thank for that,

So we need to dig deep into our wallets

lets get this fundraiser on track.

To have four generations living together again

that would be an amazing day,
