Child Abuse Prevention Month - NYCC Fundraiser
I'm raising money to benefit The New York Center for Children (NYCC), for the second year in a row.
For background, my sisters and I lost our father unexpectedly during our childhood and relied heavily on specialized therapy services to help us cope. We are forever in debt to the therapeutic services we received to help process trauma at such a young and developmental phase in our lives. As an effort to give back, I joined NYCC as a junior board member to help contribute to children with similar experiences but who need help receiving/funding these services. I believe every child should have access to these vital resources.
For 28 years, NYCC has provided bilingual, trauma-focused, comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to victims of child abuse and their families, for as long as their healing requires. NYCC's services to children and families are free of charge and are made possible by the generous support of our community. NYCC also delivers groundbreaking training programs on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of child abuse. More than 20,000 medical students, mental health professionals, childcare workers, doctors, nurses and first responders worldwide have attended NYCC's training programs.
