Forest Run Fundraiser for The Treehouse
We are incredibly proud of the growth and success of our school's outdoor education program. Just three short years ago, we moved to our current location with a dream of building a thriving outdoor learning environment. Today, we are seeing that dream become a reality, and we couldn't be more excited about what the future holds. As our program continues to grow, we are always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our students. That's why we are thrilled to announce our latest initiative: the construction of an outdoor bathroom in our forest garden.
As teachers, we understand the importance of minimizing disruptions during outdoor learning sessions. Having to interrupt the flow of our lessons to take groups indoors for bathroom breaks can be a significant distraction. By providing easy access to bathrooms in the forest garden, we can eliminate these disruptions and create a more seamless learning environment for our students. To make this vision a reality, we are purchasing an outdoor bathroom facility for the Forest Garden. This will serve as a vital resource for our students and staff, ensuring that everyone can focus on learning and exploration without unnecessary interruptions.
The Forest Run Fundraiser on April 5th will kick off our fundraising efforts towards this endeavor. This event will be a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and support a great cause. All proceeds from the run will go towards the down payment for the outdoor bathroom facility.
How does it work?
On Friday April 5th at 3:30pm we will host the forest run event. We invite families to come and cheer on the children as they joyfully run what they can. We are not doing laps, but a flat donation. Children this young will simply be happy to see so many support their own special school community. When we all show them how much we love their school it is so special to them, and they feel it each day they attend.
The total cost of the bathroom facility will be around $43,000 and everything we earn in fundraising will go towards a down payment to cut down on monthly costs. Our first goal for this Forest Run Fundraiser is $5,000 and you can help us reach this first goal! Help The Treehouse fund this important and vital endeavor to educate the next generation on how to care for and have reverence for our sacred earth.
