Skye is the very definition of a miracle. Let me tell you her story and I'm sure you'll agree.
Just about a week ago rescuers in the very heavily hit and occupied Mariupol were informed of a dog stuck on the 9th Floor of a building and it couldn't get down. The building had been hit by a Missile and most of the building was rubble. But to everyone's surprise there stood our "Skye", as she would soon be named, and rescuers made it up to feed her and check on her wellbeing. Seeing that she was miraculously ok they decided to leave and come back when a place was secured for her. In the meantime, a terrible thunder storm came and it scared Skye so much that she did the unthinkable.
She leapt from the 9th Floor!!!
Rescuers saw her the next morning and to everyone's surprise she was ALIVE! They treated her as best they could without much equipment and within a few days Skye was ready for a transport. It was decided by the amazing vet Olga that she was well enough for travel as under the circumstances Skye was better off OUT of Mariupol and brought to seek treatment outside the war-torn area. Skye still has no use of her back legs but she does have some sensitivity back there which is very promising. There is hope she may walk again. But we just don't know.
Skye then had to make the 8 hour journey in a heatwave (no AC) out of Mariupol to Zaporozhye for a rest. She is waiting now to head to Kyiv (another 8 plus hours) where her care will be taken over by the amazing Transform a Street Dog Team. They will oversee her every need. i.e, Treatment, Medical, Housing, Dietary Needs and, when the time comes, her Adoption.
Skye has lived through a bombing - She has lived through going without Food and Water - and perhaps the most miraculously of all - She survived a Fall from 9 Stories High to the Ground.
She is the bravest little soldier and we all love her very much. Unfortunately, Skye’s happy ending comes at a cost and we ask for your help.
Transform a Street Dog has taken on many hard cases lately. Skye will be added to their impressive resume of success stories I'm sure, but Financial Help is needed to cover all the expenses that goes with taking in a dog like Skye in addition to their many other disabled dogs.
WE NEED TO SEE A HAPPY ENDING HERE! THIS WAR HAS BEEN HELL AND PEOPLE LOSE HOPE. CAN YOU HELP US GET SKYE TO HER HAPPILY EVER AFTER AND SHOW THEM THAT IF SKYE GOT THROUGH THIS THEN ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE???
