Tucson Community School Needs Your Help
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Tucson Community School Inc, and any donation will help make an impact.
Due to the Covid-19 virus, Tucson Community School (TCS) has been closed since April. At this time the reopening does not seem possible until the 2020-2021 school year.
Since 1948, Tucson Community School has been caring for children and inspiring them to build their dreams. Our mission was, and always has been, to provide a creative learning experience emphasizing outdoor play and family participation in a safe environment which respects each child’s uniqueness and individual learning style. As a result, generations of TCS students, continue to thrive. Even more amazing, is when past students come back to these very same classrooms with their own children, reliving the magic once more.
For over 70 years, TCS has taken care of your children and now is the time for you to help take care of TCS. We are hoping to raise enough funds that allow for the facilities management of our building costs, key staff salary, and our annual fees for insurance, licensing, etc. Even in closure, and with tight parameters on spending, our expenses can range between $3,000 – $5,000 every month. Without steady tuition coming in, it will become extremely difficult to maintain our bottom line.
Two thirds of the monthly expenses are going towards employee compensation. Our wonderful teachers who are still on the payroll have been working hard supporting parents by putting together activity bags that can be done at home, by joining in with the small pod groups, and planning for when TCS is able to reopen. They have even done a little sprucing up of the classrooms by doing some painting.
One of the Trustees' major roles is to support the the school through fund raising. To that end the Trustees are hoping to raise enough money to cover expenses until families start paying their deposits for the school year 2020-2021.
If that amount can be covered TCS will be able to continue providing quality education to the children of the Tucson community.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the staff and the families hoping to return to TCS we thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
