Not Dead Yet 100K Run to Support To Write Love on Her Arms
I’ll be running the Beast of the East 100K on December 14. It will be a physical struggle and mental battle, Will against Mortality.

In the end, though, this is escapism for me, a moment where I move out of my head, away from my stress, and can exist in the here and now. For many, this is a difficult task and outside help is deeply necessary.

That’s why I am running to raise money for To Write Love on Her Arms, a company that works to help those who are dealing with mental anguish, anxiety, depression and need support. If you have a penny to spare, or just want to shout out encouragement, you will be greatly appreciated!

My name is Tony Mikel —

i’m in the middle of training for my first marathon! I want to pair this special time in my life with a special cause. I am fundraising for an extremely important non-profit called To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA). TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury & suicide. In 2018, I attempted suicide. I was struggling with addiction, alcohol abuse & depression. I used the TWLOHA crisis line to find help (therapy, psychiatrist, counseling). I am a living testimony to what TWLOHA can do to help people struggling like I was. It’s so important to me to help people out in the ways that I needed help. I’m running this marathon to remember the journey I’ve been on & to remind people out there that you can do anything if you make the beautiful decision to be alive tomorrow. My fundraising goal is $2,620 but I hope to surpass that. Please donate in my name for TWLOHA & share this everywhere you can. Thanks

Saving Lives From Depression #Maggiesfoundation
I never thought I was going to be here writing this but here I am. My sister maggie battled depression, anxiety (and bipolar but she wouldn't admit that...) for years.

She struggled to find hope for her life and even while being blessed with amazing gifts and talent she did not think she was worthy of life. She was.

On May 16th 2023 I lost my sister, my best friend and I know I will never be the same.

But what I can do is to spread awareness and help in my small way with running.

On June 14th this year I began running a 5k every single day to raise awareness for depression and to raise money for mental health charities working to to fight the current mental health epidemic. As of writing this I am about to do my 37th 5k and my challenge I have set out is to do 365 5k's in 365 days straight. No days off.

If people want to donate a lump sum, or an amount every month ($.50 per 5k, $1 per 5k etc) sponsoring these 5k's I would greatly appreciate it as it is going to a good place and I hope that some of you find your own "5k" or join me on mine. I know that my Maggie is gone, but my hope is with my small effort I can help to save someone else's Maggie.

This giving season, we’re asking you to play a vital role in continuing to make healing possible and ensure people have access to mental health care. Your support has the power to directly create financial assistance for therapy. Your generosity turns a story of despair into one of hope and healing.

When we raise $10,000 we will cover the therapy bill for ten people currently on our waitlist. This provides 12 sessions per person with 120 hours of therapy covered. Together, we can ensure everyone knows hope is real and that any person in need is met with the help they deserve.
