Ukulele Kids Club Inc.

Hi! My name is Ella, and I'm a Life Scout in Troop 631 in Atlanta, GA. Join me in making a difference for kids in hospitals through music.

I'm raising money for my Eagle Scout project benefiting the Ukulele Kids Club.  Every $60 donated buys a ukulele for a hospitalized child. Any donation will help make an impact. My goal is to donate at least 70 ukulele care-packages to kids.

Once the ukulele's are purchased, they will be placed in a care packages that are hand decorated with inspirational quotes and pictures. Each care-package will contain a song book, chord chart, friendship bracelet, decals, and inspirational quotes. Packages will then be delivered to  hospitals in Georgia. The children will get to keep the ukulele for life, giving them the gift of music to lift their spirits and enrich their lives.

Ukulele Kids Club

Will you join us  in making a difference? We are raising money to help Ukulele Kids Club Japan. 

UKC Japan  was launched in the spring of 2019 in partnership with the Florida based parent organization Ukulele Kids Club, Inc.   UKC Japan’s mission is to provide ukuleles to hospitalized children so they can experience the joy and healing power of music.  40 ukuleles have been distributed so far since the launch.

Jenny loved music and showed compassion for others as many of you remember.  We wish to honor her memory in this way.  You can read more about her story here:  Jenny's Dream

Through the generosity of so many for the Keep Jenny’s Dream Alive GoFundMe initiative in 2016, 200 ukuleles were delivered to children in hospitals across US in 2017 - 2018.

One custom designed UKC ukulele costs approximately $45 and 100% of the funds received from this campaign will be directed towards the purchase and shipping of the instruments to Japan in care of Hospitals, NGO and other professionals for direct distribution to children.





The financial goal for this campaign is $5000 or 110 ukuleles and this campaign will run until January 15, 2020.

Letter from Akiko (Arina’s Mother):

'Hello, my name is Akiko and I am Arina’s mother.  A ukulele was delivered to my daughter Arina’s bedside this afternoon while I was out.  I asked my six years old daughter what happened, she informed me that the ukulele was a present given to her.  I was so moved by this unexpected gift and wanted to contact you to convey my heartfelt gratitude to your organization.

Currently, Arina is enrolled in a in-house class for hospitalized children.  A few days ago, a special class was held where a ukulele concert was performed by Waseda University Ukulele Circle and they also gave the children introductory lessons so that they can try the ukuleles themselves.  

Arina must have been so happy about mastering one song within thirty minutes of leaning, she fell in love with ukulele and she told me “I want a ukulele! I want to play more!”  Arina is very fond of the ukulele because its size and the weight is just right for her who is six years old and is easily carried anywhere as well as can be played anywhere because of its soft sound. 

Her condition varies day to day as her treatment continues, but its sound soothes her when she is not feeling well and she practices when she has more strength. We will make certain to use this gifted ukulele with care for long time.  

Since I was introduced to this wonderful organization, I would be grateful if I can be of any kind of help.  My words cannot express my gratitude properly. Thank you so much for this surprise gift.'

Akiko (Arina’s Mother)

Music is powerful and  The Ukulele Kids Club is on a mission to provide hope, healing, and a smile to children most in need of it.  In partnership with music therapy programs across the country, the Ukulele Kids Club gives the gift of music for a lifetime with the donation of ukuleles to children.  With over 6,000 ukuleles given, this small organization is making big waves. 

As the Ukulele Kids Club grows and more children are served, needs are assessed, reassessed, and our focus becomes clearer.  We shared a video of one of our kids using a Ukulele Support System for Upper Limb Disabilities called the Ulissys system (above) and the requests for ukuleles with the devices started pouring in.  With a simple Facebook video, it is clear there is a need for instruments with special and specific modifications to meet the needs of our kids.  Unfortunately, the equipment needed for our differently abled friends is expensive.  This is why we’re asking for your support.  Our goal is to procure 100 of the Ulissys systems for use in music therapy.  $20,000 would cover this cost and allow us to further our mission of spreading joy and healing to kids who need it most.  If everyone who watched the video of little Wesson taking his first strums using this equipment donated just $1, we’d have enough for 600 of the Ulissys devices.  We know we can make a difference but we need your help to make it possible.  Please consider a donation, of any amount, and know you are making a positive, lasting, impact in a child’s life.
