As many of you may know, Yemen has been undergoing years of conflict and is known for being the "world's worst humanitarian crisis". Over 18 million people in need of humanitarian assistance and over half of them lack access to safe water and hygiene and are severely malnourished. About an average of 75 people are killed or injured everyday. As the situation in Yemen continues to worsen, thousands of children and pregnant women are severely malnourished.

Yemen’s people need our help more than ever. They are in desperate need of food, clean water and especially medical care, with cholera becoming a persistent threat.

Youth Group Bedem has decided to work with United Muslim Relief (UMR) to help give the people of Yemen basic necessities to survive. We encourage everyone to donate as much as they can and Inshallah, with your help, we will reach our goal!

My name is Lubna Omar and I am a volunteer for United Mission for Relief and Development, a nonprofit organization that caters to third world countries.  Earlier today, there were massive explosions in Beirut, Lebanon. According to the BBC,“ It is not yet clear what caused the explosion in the port area of the city... but hospitals are said to be overwhelmed by casualties.” While we don't know the extent of the casualties, some outlets are reporting that at least 10 have been killed and hundreds-- if not thousands-- more have been injured. Hospitals have been damaged and are being forced to turn patients away as they reach capacity. Many are trying to operate without electricity. Prior to this disaster, the people in Lebanon were already suffering immensely. With the collapse of Lebanon's economy and the detrimental effects of COVID-19, hundreds of thousands of people were pushed into poverty in the last year alone.

UMR has been working in Lebanon for years, providing cash assistance, food parcels, fresh meat, and medical assistance to the poorest areas of the country. In fact, UMR just recently completed its Qurbani distribution in Lebanon and has been routinely providing families with essential food items since the protests began back in October 2019. Our team is on the ground actively responding to the escalating situation and will continue to support Lebanon through this difficult time. But in order to help those directly impacted by the explosion, we must act NOW.

If you do, you will realize the urgent need for action for the well-being of the Palestinian people. There is a lack of basic amenities such as economic access, medical care, education, etc.


We need your help to ensure that these courageous people have the tools they need to live onto the next day with a smile on their face.


The fair trade program will connect disadvantage producers and consumers, promote fairer trading conditions, and empower producers to combat poverty by strengthening their position in the worlds' markets.


The dental relief is a network of dentists, dental specialists, and dental students located across the United States dedicated to serving those with little to no access to quality dental care. Your money will be used to give dental access to those who need it most.


Lastly, the support and sustenance of a school in Palestine. Muslims Without Boarders sponsors a school in Palestine to ensure that they have amenities such as a clean water, school supplies, laptops, etc. Your money will ensure that the kids get the opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty through the unalienable right of education.

"These places will never be the same," said Helen Clark, former prime minister of New Zealand, who now spends much or her time in the region as head of the U.N. Development Program. "Many of these people will never go home."

Since 2011, Syria has faced crisis after crisis and now during the snowstorms of 2013, people are losing their lives daily. We are blessed with so much, having warmth with merely a touch of a button. The least we can do is donate even $5 to help those in need. Every bit helps.
