Help Us Bring Mr George Home
UPDATE:
After three decades behind bars, Mr. Robert George, an 85-year-old with COPD, diabetes, and high blood pressure, is finally returning to the outside world. With only a rocking chair crafted by fellow incarcerated men awaiting him, he faces immense challenges. He will be relocating to Florida to live with his stepdaughter, and he needs urgent support. Your donations can provide him with essentials like clothing, cover medical expenses, and ensure access to transportation. Additionally, your generosity can aid in clearing court costs, restitution, and monthly parole fees. By contributing through reputable 501c3 organizations like the Woods Foundation or Unheard Voices of the Concrete Jungle, you can help Mr. George rebuild his life with dignity and hope. Every dollar makes a difference in this journey towards forgiveness and freedom.
Original Story
Join the Unheard Voices OTCJ and the Woods Foundation (both registered 501c3 non profit organizations) campaign to free 84-year-old Robert George, who has served over 30 years, and is one of the oldest elders in the Alabama Department of Corrections, for an accidental death during the struggles of alcohol addiction. His sentence, enhanced under Alabama's 3-strikes law, is excessive for manslaughter. Despite being fully rehabilitated, suffering declining health, and having the victim's support, Mr. George faces the possibility of dying in prison. Help us urge District Attorney Todd Watson and Judge Weaver to do the right thing. Sign now to make a difference in Mr. George's life and bring him home to his family.
This is one of many projects and examples of our work. #FreeRobertGeorge
