United Way of the Bay Area (United Way Bay Area)

The Guidepoint San Francisco office is running a virtual 5K and hosting a fundraiser for two causes that are severely impacting life around the Bay Area--impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic and devastation caused by the California wildfires. For this fundraiser, we are partnering with United Way of the Bay Area, a local nonprofit with a rich history of bringing together individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and government entities to fight for a strong, vibrant, and healthy community (Read More on UWBA Here ).

 

Through our efforts, we will be donating to two of United Way Bay Area's funds currently experiencing the greatest needs for the organization:

Rental Relief Fund – The Fund is focused on homelessness prevention and is providing rental assistance to families who have experienced hardships from COVID-19 through UWBA’s existing network of SparkPoint Centers and community partners. (Read More Here )

Greater Bay Area Central Coast Wildfire Relief Fund - The Fund is created to provide immediate and long-term recovery assistance to Bay Area and Central Coast residents affected by the August 2020 wildfires that have spread throughout the region. (Read More Here )

 

 

We have an office goal of raising $2,000 between 10/2 and 10/29 which will be donated directly to the United Way Bay Area and these two funds. Furthermore, our company has committed to matching 100% of donations raised (meaning $2,000 raised would turn into a $4,000 total donation!). One of BADI's primary goals is to give back to the community in as many ways as we can. Given the unprecedented times we are in with Covid-19, we know many families are struggling to make ends meet, and our favorite local businesses are suffering. We ask that if you are in a position to donate, please donate to the United Way Bay Area Covid-19 Relief fund. Donations are 100% tax deductible. 

This organization helps provide meals, housing, medical treatment, and more to struggling families in the Bay Area. It provides economic assistance to the families most financially affected by coronavirus spread prevention measures such as assistance with rent, housing, food, utilities, healthcare costs, or unpaid sick time. The organization also helps with public benefits assistance, disability benefits application assistance, and legal assistance.

Hi, I am Nalin Saini, a rising senior at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, CA. The last few months have been quite challenging for all of us due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. This pandemic has impacted everyone in our community, some more than others. As we all strive to keep ourselves safe, it is important that we do not forget to be kind and compassionate towards others through small acts of kindness. One of the charities I actively follow is the United Way. They do a great job in serving our local communities and across the world. 

I have decided to do my little bit in helping others survive this crisis, by starting this GoFundMe page.
