Hi, my name is Mark and I am a 7th grader from New Jersey. 6.1 million innocent Ukrainian civilians have already migrated to different countries. It may take weeks, maybe months, for these refugees to receive their approval, and donating to the United Way Worldwide (UWW) will give these refugees short-term relief in the form of clothing, shelter, hygiene kits, food, transportation, childcare supplies, medicine, and more. Meanwhile, long-term plans will help Ukrainian refugees find jobs, enroll children in schools, and rebuild their lives completely.
I, myself, have first-hand seen refugees struggle to come to America. Most of my family is from Ukraine, and though most of my family got out before the war, some didn't. My aunt, uncle, and cousin are still in Kyiv, and we are struggling to get them out of there. Though my aunt and little cousin are set to leave Ukraine for good and come to live with us in America, we are having issues getting my uncle out of Ukraine. This whole war has been a tough time for me and my family, and we can only pray that the best happens.
I still know that there are many families that are in the same situation as mine, and donating is an amazing way of supporting this cause.
Thank you so much!
