No matter where you stand on homeless encampment enforcement ordinances, housing first, etc. we can all agree it's time to get all families with school-aged children and infants off the streets, beginning with Downtown.

UPLIFT San Diego & Downtown San Diego Partnership Clean & Safe Outreach announce a collaboration with BAPAC, Black Political Action Committee, dedicated to the placement of all unsheltered families into safe housing.

The $50,000 goal will serve approximately 20 families with kids currently estimated to be on the streets in the Downtown 92101 zipcode. Anticipated expenses are $1000 - $3000 per family.

We are a group of regular Moms working as homeless service providers and housing advocates, determined to rise above the bureaucracy to get these families to safety by raising the standards, gathering our resources & making it happen. Yes, we will be helping Dad with kids on the street too.

We are focusing on families on the streets of Downtown matched to housing resources but not yet placed and matching those not yet served by case managers. We will be gap-filling on funding for motels, transit to appointments, job training, move-in expenses, and anything necessary that case management agencies are not covering.

How does the program work? Partners Clean & Safe and BAPAC identify the families & handle the arrangements. UPLIFT provides transportation & pays into DSDP Clean & Safe Foundation fund to cover expenses as requested. All are very transparent.

All donations go directly to Client needs. No fees or added salary. This is a flex fund to fuel what everyone is already doing, to speed the flow to housing for unsheltered families we are already working with every day,
