Celebration, Festivity, and Family are just some words which come to mind when we think of winter. However for many, winter is a time of unforgiving cold resulting in the death of thousands.

Currently, there are hundreds of refugee families living on the outskirts of Delhi, India, living in makeshift shelters and struggling to survive the harsh winter.

But we can change that. As our name “Promise Warmth” suggests, we have promised to bring warmth into the lives of our less fortunate brothers and sister and we intend on fulfilling that promise.

Join me helping these families with warm wool blankets to protect them from the winter cold. A simple donation of 25 can provide 3 blankets to these families.

Maryland Cricket League (MCL) won the bid to host US National Youth Cricket Tournament (July 3 - 11, 2020).  We will be hosting about 80 teams (2000 cricket enthusiasts) from across North America playing 150+ games played across various divisions 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U.

For this event to be successful may I urge you to help raise funds in the amount of $25,000. 

Your donation of even small amount like $5 could pay for one games water supplies. That's 20+ kids staying hydrated all thanks to you.

You may even donate $100 covering 1 day of ground rental cost. That's two successful games, entirely because of you.

MCL is a community based league of 30+ recreational adult cricket teams and 20+ hard ball youth cricket teams for the community and by the community.  


How was Maryland Cricket League born?

In 2012, a few cricket enthusiasts got together to raise funds for VHPA initiative Support-A-Child (SAC - www.sacusa.org), which raises funds to support 50+ children every year.  . The organization provides basic accommodation and education for underprivileged children in Bharat.  The group found local businesses willing and ready to help -- that’s how SAC Charity Cricket League was born.

We started with nine teams organizing ten overs game spread across two weekends in a festive atmosphere.  Teams from key supporters include the following: Xerox Corporation, Angarai International Inc, Opnet (later merged with RiverBed Technology), Polar IT services, Howard County Heros (made up of local business community), etc.  With this inaugural effort in 2012. we were able to raise enough funds to provide basic accommodations and education for nine children in Bharat.

Fast forward to the 2018-19 season, our charity league re branded ourselves to become the Maryland Cricket League (MCL) with our dedication, to our cause of helping underprivileged youth in Bharat, remaining the same. Currently, we have two dedicated cricket grounds, 30+ adult recreational teams and 20+ youth hard ball cricket teams.  Every year we organize four major tournaments - Spring, Fall, Entertainment (7/11) and SAC Charity Youth tournaments.

We are committed to providing the growing cricket community a structured platform to play organized cricket, but also, we are committed to help raise awareness about SAC Charity program. In addition, the Maryland Cricket League has expanded our charity efforts. Since 2018, we initiated a Math Tutoring Program to uplift Math Standards in local public schools as well as providing and serving Christmas dinner at a local homeless shelter.

Building on MCL's growing reputation within the community, this year, we won the bid to host the 2020 US National Youth Cricket Tournament hosting approximately 80 teams from across North America in July 2020.
