Rebuild Villas Church sanctuary, Fort Myers
Update August 21: We still need help for Villas Wesleyan Church’s rebuild, thank you! There are important aspects that fall outside what insurance will cover. Especially upgrades to our fellowship hall and gym; and we’ll need to resurface the grounds and parking lot. Good news is that we have a general contractor, and should have architect designs and drawings by September in order to get the building permits!
The new sidewalk and awning covering are great (especially when it rains)! The fellowship hall internal buildouts have already helped to provide separate spaces for Sunday School. The audiovisual, electrical and circuit systems are becoming more reliable. More work is needed on the utilities, facilities and equipment. But all activities are in progress! We’re so grateful. Please help by contributing or renewing your support, thank you!
God has been answering our prayers mightily, as we’re now hopeful the rebuild could finish next year!! Amazing, because the massive fire destruction on February 13 damaged virtually everything but the outer walls. (News coverage example from the destruction can be seen at https://t.co/Hh5MYfp8OE.) I’ve added a couple of new photos at the bottom, below, of the sanctuary interior showing how the demolition has cleared away much of the debris.
You’re invited to join Sunday worship at 10:30 am; Sunday Bible study at 9:30 am (and the café at 10:00 am); Wednesday adult Bible studies 9:30 am & 6:00 pm, and Thursday youth group at 6:00-8:00 pm. God’s gospel of love and saving grace through Jesus Christ continues! Learn more about us at our Facebook page and our website www.villaswesleyan.org.
Donations are going directly from GoFundMe to the church, which is at the corner of Trailwinds Drive and Beacon Blvd. We are not abandoning or taking away any resources from our ongoing ministries or missions support locally and globally. The work of reaching souls, touching lives, and helping people remains our first focus. This 60-year old church and its many ministries do so much and we are rededicating ourselves to serving God through serving people!
Thanks again and in advance so much for your contributions to help our church recover, rebuild, and carry on to comfort and support the many families in our neighborhoods and ministries around Fort Myers. God bless you!
