18u Virginia Crushers Stolen Softball Equipment
What was supposed to be a memorable week full of fun and softball for our VA Crushers 18u softball team quickly turned memorable for the completely wrong reasons. Upon waking up on Monday morning, July 3rd, excited to get our tournament week started in Nashville, TN we discovered that someone had stolen our team’s equipment trailer through the night. The contents of the trailer included all of the team’s buckets, tees, hitting nets, bats, and even a few of the players' ENTIRE gear bags. This was a collection of equipment 10+ years in the making. Needless to say, this was devastating news for the entire team!
It was a very emotional and frustrating first couple of days but, our Crushers family never gave up hope. With some sleuthing on different social media platforms, we were able to locate what was left of our equipment trailer being sold on Facebook Marketplace across state lines in Kentucky. With the help of the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, we were able to track down the person in possession of our stolen trailer. Coach Sain made the 90-minute drive to KY to retrieve our team trailer only to find $15,000 of equipment missing and our team decals removed. We are trying to stay hopeful that the thieves who stole our equipment will be brought to justice and maybe we will one day have our gear back but, until then these girls will need equipment to help them play the game they love. Right now, we are asking for your help. Any donation is greatly appreciated and all money raised will be used to replace what these girls have lost.
Throughout this terrible situation, this team has never lost hope or given up. These girls have come out and played their hearts out when it would’ve been a lot easier for them to throw in the towel. These girls love this game and with your help, we can help them recover from their devastating loss of equipment!
Thank you,
VA Crushers 18u-Sain
